The British Envoy at the Court of His Majesty the Maharajadhiraja an officer of the Foreign and Political Department of the Government of India does not interfere in the internal affairs of the State. [...] The policy to be pursued in the matter of granting assistance to industries the develoment of technical and industrial education and to a large extent the research work necessary to establish the value of raw materials is now determined by the Ministerq in charge of the provincial departments of industries. [...] The control of the minor ports in the Bombay Presidency vests in the Collector of Salt Revenue who as in Madras is still subject to the Local Government ; while the only two ports open to foreign trade in Sind are under the jurisdiction of the Chief Collector of Customs Karachi. [...] The Department consists at present of the office of the Chief ControHer of Stores which is located at the heaquarters of the Government of India and of inspection agencies at Calcutta Jamshedpur and Karachi. [...] The principal officers of the Department are the Chief Controller of Stores the Director of Inpection and the Director of Purchase and Intelligence.
