In October considerable discontent was aroused by the action of the All-India Congress Committee at Madras in again shelving the question of the acceptance of office; and relations between the Congress leaders and their Provincial followers were not improved by a further failure on the part of the former to settle the differences between the two factions in the Provincial Congress Committee."vi RE [...] The celebrations in the Presidency and Rajshahi Divisions were an unqualified success and the occurrence of a few petty impertnences on the part of anti-Government protagonists merely served to emphasize the fact that the hearts of the majority were in the right place.
