[...] Gamble's list included the great majority of the trees of the Jalpaiguri District and at the suggestion of the Coservator of Forests Bengal we have included this district in the scope of our work. [...] The area covered by " The Trees of Northern Bengal " comprises the Darjeeling Kurseong Kalimpong Jalpaiguri and Buxa Forest Divisions or the political districts of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri. [...] At the request of the Conservator of Forests Bengal the names of trees usually attaining a girth of three feet or over are printed in larger type to facilitate the use of this list by Forest Officers.
