Two villages were selected for intensive study and records of family income and expenditure of fifteen families in each village were kept for one full year by local recorders under the supervision of an 'investigator.* One of the villages Sehr Hadot lies about eight miles east of. Murree on the Rawalpindi-Kashmir Road and the second Masot is situated about four miles north of Murree on the Mu [...] In all out of the thirty families Es8 for study in the two villages there were 26 of Dhunds and 4. The economic life of the people of both villages is greatly influenced by the proximity of Murree and the surrounding military cantonments. [...] The statement on the next shows the annual net income of each family from various sources and the following sumary shows the importance of the items in the average family income in the two villages. [...] The following table shows the annual average quantity of milk produced by the 15 families kept under observation * and the cost per maund FINANCIAL POSITION OF THE FAMILIES.
