Owing to the very high velocity of the water emerging from the sluices and the peculiar shape of the channel the revetment on the right side of the channel collapsed in five places on four occasions necessitating the closing down of the channel for a period of 36 to 48 hours each time for carrying out emergent repairs. [...] The lake started with a level of 50.00 on the 12th June and fell to 28.50 by the end of the month and to 21.90 on the 5th July after which the level rose to 68.00 by the end of July the floods being far below the normal. [...] Work on the aqueduct across the Puligedda arm was closed for the season at the end of June after constructing the substructure up to the top level of the piers and casting the trough (inclusive of roadway) for two spans. [...] In connexion with the proposal to construct an anicut across the Pillaperu to augment the supply in the Mopad main channel the gauging of the Pillaperu was ordered by the Government during the year. [...] the connecting channel to Amur and Konaseelam channels) the work of revetting the sides of the main canal in its third reach raising the left bank of the Karapatnar river and the construction of additional bridges in the main canal were completed during the year.
