The planned develoment towards increasing the food production and the betterment of the socio-economic conditions of the fisherfolk were always borne in mind while forwarding new schemes for the development of the fisheries of the State. [...] B. (1) Investigation of the suitability of the establishment of marine fish farms on the West Coast and the location of centres for the collection of fry and fingerlings of cultivable marine fishes. [...] The biological variations of the food and the spawning conditions and the consequent changes in the bio-chemical aspects of the fish particularly the fa; variation were being studied. [...] In the former position they act as an impediment to the free movement of ships and in the latter they are the cause of the destruction and decay of the attached surface. [...] The opening and closing of the sand bar the outset of the monsoonic rains all results in the changes of the salinity of this estuarine waters.
