A questionnaire was drawn up and circulated to all persons in Bengal invested with the title of Mahamahopadhyaya the members of the Bengal Sanskrit Association including the President and the Secretary the Presidents of the Sanskrit Examinati4m Centres in Bengal the Vice-Chancellors of.the Universities of Calcutta and Dacca the Divisional Inspectors of Schools the Chairmen of the District Bo [...] Association on the lines suggested in the note of the Hon'ble Maharaja Srish Chandra Nandy of Cossimbazar The General Body should have powers similar to those of the Senate of the Calcutta 'University and shall ratify important matters and policies The Executive Council should be elected by the Assciation as the Syndicate of the Calcutta University is elected by the Senate and ultimately respo [...] As the outside centres bear their own cost of conducting examinations and also the cost of periodical"10 inspection and as the outside teachers and students have no right to participate in the stipends and rewards awarded by the Government of Bengal' on the results of the Sanskrit Examinations we see no harm in the continuance If the present state of things. [...] Inspectors of Tols.—The maintenance of the electoral roll the Affiliation and disaffiliation of tols the selection of the deserving tols for Government grants-in-aid as also the supervision of the centres of examination and local Samajes all require the employment of a nuber of inspectors whole-time officers specially suited for the purpose. [...] The colection of examination fees from the candidates and the preparation of rolls for the Calcutta centre which entail heavy and responsible work and cannot be properly done without an office staff should be made in the office of the Bengal Sanskrit Association with the help of the Secretary of the Calcutta Pandit Sabha."15 59.
