Revenue Report of the Irrigation Works in Baluchistan for the year 1922-23

The Kharif area sown was 5 912 acres and the Rabi area 17 889 acres : the total of all the canals shows an increase of 3 118 acres over the past year and a decrease of 518 acres over the average of the last three years. [...] A comparison of the yield and the value of produce during the year with that of the previous year is shown below :— Year. [...] The total of the year was 8.55" against 1.52" in the previous year and against an average of 8.27" for the preceding 29 years. [...] The rainfall during the year was therefore slightly in excess of the normal the excess occulting during the winter months. [...] Since then the area has decreased the decrease being due to the increase of the irrigated area in the upper part of the river-catchment and the consequently greater draw-off of river supplies higher up.
