A scheme for erecting a Pulp Mill in the lloiihLrigabad district of the Central Provinces to work Babar grass and Bamboo was examined on the spot by the Forest Economist and suggestionsmade regarding the necessary information to be collected on the subject of the possibility and cost of floating bamboos to the Mill site in order n ensure the success of the project. [...] The ever increasing number of enquiries from firms and others on the subject of the utilzation of Indian timbers for special lures in place of the imported timbers used here-tfore lends encouragement to this head of 'research and indicates the importance of more intensive methods of exploitation and the collection of reliable data regarding local outturn and prices. [...] The emergence of the beetle was found to result directly from the effect of the moisture-content of the heartwood on the atmosphere of the pupal chamber the percentage of moisture in the wood being in its turn influenced by rainfall and the relative humidity of the atmosphere. [...] Special attention was paid to the secretion of lime in the Malphigian tubes of larvae of these genera and the utilisation of this material for the construction of opercula to close the pupal chamber. [...] In the early years of the life of a plantation the degree of beeholing is directly proportional to the girth of the tree but after a variable period the current annual beehole increment increases at a much faster rate than the girth increment.
