The geology of the ridge is comparatively simple from the engneering point of view and is fully described in Mr. [...] The difficulty of control due to the distance of the storage from Malouna could be partially overcome by erecting shutters on the overflow weir at the headworks the top level of which would be the top level of the sluice gates. [...] For the puposes therefore of investigating the markets for the power likely eventually to be available the scope of the scheme has been extended as far as Lyallpur on the north-west Delhi on the south and Abohar in the area between the above two and includes all loads within about 50 miles of any of the three above-named transmission routes.29. [...] With the wide intake channel first described the divide wall would have consisted almost entirely of solid rock ; the provision of gates througout the length of the divide wall necessitated by the adoption of a narrow itake channel with the top end closed will necessitate the removal of the exising rock and the construction of a row of artificial concrete piers and a wall in its place. [...] Shaft nullah must be either carried across the top of the in take channel in a super-passage or diverted into the river above the top gate The former method besides being costly would add another obstructiop to the flow of the river during heavy floods besides interfering with the tunnel entrance arrangements and the divide wall gates and would necessitate an increase in the length of the int
