A rich king had seven queens called the eldest the second the third the fourth the fifth the sixth and the youngest. [...] The names of the five boys were the Agate prince the Diamond Prince the F'eark_Prince the Ruby Prince and the Glad prince. [...] They stood at the landing-place and called out to the lady in the boat : 0 lady of sunshine and with hair as black as the cloud come and take a pearl-flower." The boat glided along the river and the fair lady replied "It is no easy matter to make me take the pearl-flower. [...] The moment their boat ran to the middle of the net it was lifted up out of the water and overturned with the princes soldiers and boatmen—all wrapped up in the net. [...] once into the water." The boatmen cut the ropes of the leaboats and the soldiers hurled the two brothers overboard.
