The Endogram Tea Company Limited (Cachar) Report by the Directors 31st December 1949

Instead of one Profit and Loss and Appropriation Account we now have a Profit and Loss Account which shows the net profit after charging the amount written off Machinery Account and also the provision for taxation and the Appropriation Account which shows the total sum available for distribution and how it is proposed to dispose of it. [...] We were fortunate enough to be able to arrange for the Consulting Engineer on the staff of the Secretaries to include a visit to the garden in his recent tour of the tea districts and what he has told me confirms the reports of the Managing Agents' tea garden inspector that there has been a very great improvement in the property generally since the present Manager Mr. [...] I know you would wish a message of thanks to be sent to him and his staff to the Managing Agents and to the Secretaries for the good work they have put in on our behalf during the year. [...] In our opinion arid to the best of our information and according to the explanations given us the said accounts give the information required by the Companies Act 1948 in the mariner so required and the Balance Sheet gives a true and fair view of the state of the Company's affairs as at 31st December 1949 and the Profit and Loss Account gives a true and fair view of the profit for the year end [...] for the following purposes :— To receive and pass the Directors' Report and Accounts for the year ended 31st December 1949 To declare a Dividend To elect a Director To fix Auditors' remuneration and to transact the ordinary business of the Company.
