The reports are submitted with the usual map of the bheel under rclamation the plans and sections of the Khagra and Berhampore supply and entrance channels and of the Northern Drainage Cut. [...] 3. This operation known as the process of Bonificazione " was first taken up in the year 1909 on the recommendation of the Sanitary Commission of the year 1906-07 and the operation since then being carried out year after year and this is the eighth year of the operation. [...] Commencing the operation on the 24th July the sluices had to be closed from the 28th July to 5th August both days inclusive at the request of the Collector of Murshidabad to allow the cultivators to harvest their crops on the fringed area. [...] It is the usual practice to flush the entrance and supply channels at the end of the season's operation with the object of scouring out the silt deposited in the beds of the channels.
